Kochi Biennale in December

12.12.12 — on this day,the much-awaited,controvery-dogged Kochi-Muziris Biennale will finally get underway. The announcement was made during the India Art Fair in Delhi. The event will host around 80 artists,including a sizeable number of foreign galleries. To be held in Kochi,Kerala,the three-month-long Biennale will be held in Fort Kochi and Durbar Hall. Among the artists are Subodh Gupta,Ranbir Kalekar,Bani Abidi,Indonesian artist Fiona Tan,Mexico-based Gabriel Orozco and African artist Wangechi Mutu. As a run-up to the event,in April,the Durbar Hall will host German modern artist Eberhard Havekost’s exhibition “Sightseeing Trip”,held in collaboration with Dresden State Art Collections.
