Concerned over the damage caused to crops by wild animals,the district unit of Himachal Kisan Sabha on Thursday urged the state Government to allow farmers to kill monkeys and wild boars that cause losses to the tune of lakhs every season. The Sabha also urged the Government to announce the retail price of cow milk at Rs 18 per litre and Rs 22 per litre for buffalo milk to make animal husbandry lucrative. President of the unit,Pyare Lal,said a large number of farmers have applied for permission to kill these wild animals,but Forest Department officials are unnecessarily delaying the process.
Govt to purchase ayurvedic medicines from local units
With a view to encourage local entrepreneurs,the state Government has decided to purchase all medicines for the Ayurvedic department from those who have established their units across the state.Talking to mediapersons after presiding over Dhanwantari day function,jointly organised by Ayurveda Doctors Association and Ayurveda Medicines Manufacturing Association,on Thursday,State Health and Ayurveda Minister Dr Rajeev Bindal said the present government had given top priority to provide better health care services.
