Disciplined spells of bowling each by Jaswinder (3 for 8) and Yogesh (3 for 25) propelled Modgill Challengers to a compelling eight-wicket win over Sunfire Rockets in a league match of the First Tricity Premier League U-13 Cricket Tournament (U-13) being organised by BTS Cricket Academy at BTS cricket grounds.
Sunfire Rockets won the toss and elected to bat first. Their decision proved wrong as they were bundled out for a paltry total of 82 runs in 17.4 overs. Harinder was the highest scorer for the team as he played a knock of 20 runs. For Modgill Challengers,Jaswinder claimed three wickets for eight runs,while Yogesh took three wickets for 25 runs. Chasing an easy target of 83 runs in the allotted 20 overs,Modgill Challengers reached the target for the loss of two wickets in 9.3 overs. Sherry played an unbeaten knock of 34 runs,while Jaswinder contributed 19 runs. Sheery smashed six boundaries in his 27-ball knock. For the losing side,Shubham claimed two wickets for 23 runs.
In another match of the day,Rihalz Warriors scored a 38-run win over Punjabi Tigers. Batting first,Rihalz Warriors posted a total of 164 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Rizul played a knock of 49 runs,while Aruman contributed 26 runs. Rizul smashed six boundaries,while Aruman hit two boundaries. For Punjabi Tigers,Shourey claimed two wickets for 31 runs.
Chasing the target of 165 runs in the allotted 20 overs,Punjabi Tigers could manage only 126 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Shourey played a knock of 53 runs while Mayank Sidhu contributed 30 runs. For the winning team,Amrit claimed two wickets for 10 runs,while Abhey bagged one wicket for 14 runs.
