Sheraton Chandigarh is fast taking a concrete shape. The 178 rooms include luxury suites to delight the discerning clientele.” Amenities include a hanging bar,conference and banqueting facilities for more than 1,000 people,a grand atrium,plaza,a glitzy night club,fitness centre and an indoor swimming pool. Sheraton’s premium properties include over 300 luxury hotels in 71 countries across the globe.

Gold harvest
MMTC Limited,a government of India enterprise and the leading bullion trading company in the country has rolled out a Baisakhi Gold Festival in association with the state’s emporium Phulkari. The exhibition-cum-sale,which will continue till April 15,offers contemporary and traditional gold jewellery from various states of the country. The collection includes intricately designed chains,chokers,neck pieces,earrings,rings,bangles and sets. Jewellery studded with diamonds,precious and semi-precious stones,is also available. MMTC’s certified gold and silver medallions are also up for sale. ‘Our Festival of Gold has been well received elsewhere and that is why we brought it to Chandigarh,” says MMTC’s chief managing director Sanjiv Batra. The festival is on at Phulkari in Sector 17,Chandigarh.
