Gurdaspur:
The Gurdaspur police,who took ‘dreaded’ criminal Vijay Kumar alias Topi alias Randip on police remand on Friday,arrested two more members of his gang and recovered stolen cars and money they had robbed. The investigations so far reveal that Topi was declared a Proclaimed Offender (PO) in 13 cases and was wanted in 45 more cases of crimes including murders,attempt to murders,stealing vehicles and even prostitution. SSP Varinderpal Singh said that the two members arrested were identified as Kaka Kulwinder Singh,a resident of village Mule Chak,and Gurpreet Singh,a resident if Iban Kalan,Amritsar. Both were nabbed after the interrogation of Topi and his other accomplices who are revealing their crime history bit by bit. An Indica car used to rob one Sunil Kumar,a resident of Pathankot,has been recovered from them.

SGPC to protest at US Embassy on Dec 23
Amritsar:
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Chief Avtar Singh Makkar said on Friday that their protests in front of the US Embassy in Delhi on December 23 against the ‘turban search’ at US airports would be a ‘peaceful affair’. Talking to mediapersons here,Makkar said that there was outrage among Sikhs all over the world over the turban search and all should take part in the protests being organised by the SGPC. He said they would gather at Gurdwara Rakab Gunj,proceed in a rally towards the US Embassy and submit memorandum to the US Ambassador.
