Hookah bar raided in Sec 34

The UT health and police departments on Tuesday seized two ignited hookahs from Knock Out Bar,Sector 34,a unit of Mehak Restaurants.

The UT health and police departments on Tuesday seized two ignited hookahs from Knock Out Bar,Sector 34,a unit of Mehak Restaurants. The raid was conducted at 6 pm. Samples of the substance being used in the hookas will be sent for chemical analysis to the Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory (CFSL) on Wednesday. Dr Deepak Bakshi of the UT Health department said,”The UT Police gave us the information,following which the raid was conducted”. DSP Jagbir Singh said,“As per the information that we received,hookahs with nicotine content were being served to underage youth. Two of the customers,who were present in the hookah bar at the time of the raid,were under the age of 18 years”. The police have registered the names and addresses of the youngsters. Samples of tobacco molasses would be tested and action would be taken against the hotel owners and the customers,the DSP added.
