Haryana will continue fight for its share in water, says Hooda

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda reiterated that his government would make all-out efforts to get its due share of water from the natural resources of Punjab.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda reiterated that his government would make all-out efforts to get its due share of water from the natural resources of Punjab. Along with top Congress leaders,he was here to pay homage to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh. Hooda also paid obeisance at the Golden Temple.

“Our stand is clear. Whatever is our share,we will try to get it,” said Hooda, adding that their case was already pending before the Supreme Court and they would make concerted efforts, legally and politically,to get the share.

On the issue of a separate Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for Haryana,Hooda said the state government had no role to play in the SGPC elections. “The election is due and people will vote. The government will not interfere where it is not needed,” he said, adding that there was a sizeable Sikh population that wanted a separate SGPC in Haryana.
