Day before polls, Haryana politicians seek blessings from local deities
In Panchkula, Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta has made an emotional appeal to the BJP workers to perform their poll duties on May 25 which happens to also be his birthday.

With campaigning ending in Haryana, candidates contesting Lok Sabha polls made a last ditch attempt to reach out to voters through door-to-door canvassing on Friday. Some politicians also visited religious places to seek blessings of the local deities ahead of voting which would take place on Saturday.
While former CM Manohar Lal Khattar and BJP candidate from Karnal visited Baba Lakkar Nath temple at Bazida Roran village of Karnal on Friday, former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda will go to a temple in his native village Sanghi (Rohtak) before casting his vote on Saturday morning. BJP Sirsa Lok Sabha candidate Ashok Tanwar also visited Shiv Temple in Sirsa where he performed pooja and talked to the devotees there. He along with his supporters also went to the local markets to meet voters.
According to sources, top politicians have also called influential religious leaders ahead of the polls. Earlier too, they visited religious places.
Rajya Sabha MP and Congress candidate from Rohtak Deepender Singh Hooda was busy in new joinings in the party fold at his residence in Rohtak on Friday. According to Congress spokesperson Chandvir Singh Hooda, three sitting municipal councillors and two former councillors were among those who joined the grand old party Friday. Later, Deepender went to the residences of his supporters to have tea and held talks regarding the poll preparations.
On the other hand, state power minister and BJP candidate from Hisar Ranjit Singh Chautala went to local parks to meet morning walkers while seeking votes for him. In the evening, Chautala went to neighbouring villages to urge the voters to cast their franchise for him.

“On this day every year, supporters come to my residence to extend birthday wishes to me. But this time, I request them to be alert at the polling booths and vote in favour of the BJP and PM Narendra Modi which would be a biggest gift for me on the occasion of my birthday,” he said in an appeal.
CM Nayab Singh Saini and Bhupinder Singh Hooda have made separate requests to the voters to cast their ballot in favour of BJP and Congress, respectively. Former Union minister and Congress candidate from Sirsa Kumari Selja also made a request to the voters to cast their votes on Saturday to save the democracy in the country.
