A superb performance by Akshdeep Singh (55) and Harish (6 for 10) enabled Bharti Vij Academy to beat LIC Cricket Academy by a margin of 39 runs in the opening match of the Under-13 Inter-Academy Cricket Tournament for LIC Trophy in a match held at GMSSS-26 in Chandigarh on Saturday. On winning the toss,LIC Academy invited Bharti Vij Academy to bat first. Playing cautiously on a green wicket,openers Akshdeep (55) and Abhishek (31) added 70 runs in 16 overs. Coming down the order,Priankit played unbeaten knock of 21 runs in 21 balls to help his side score a total of 123 for the loss of three wickets in 25 overs. Chasing the total,LIC Academy lost early wickets. Harish bowled superb swinging deliveries to capture six wickets giving away 10 runs in five overs. It was just Pranjay who played a decent knock and scored 32 runs. Abhishek too bowled well and scalped two wickets.
