Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini warned builders to provide agreed amenities or face action, resolving 15 of 17 complaints raised. (Source: FB)Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini issued a stern warning on Monday to private builders, saying that they must provide residents with agreed basic amenities or face action. The chief minister also ordered strict action against the “tanker mafia” active in Gurgaon and directed officials to submit a detailed report on the status of water supply, sewerage systems, and sewerage treatment plants.
Saini made these remarks while chairing a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee in Gurgaon. Pataudi MLA Bimla Chaudhary, Sohna MLA Tejpal Tanwar, and Gurgaon MLA Mukesh Sharma were also present.
Seventeen complaints were taken up during the meeting. The chief minister resolved 15 of them, while two were kept pending for further consideration. He directed the officials concerned to submit a status report on the pending cases at the next meeting.
Directing officials to take stringent action against the “tanker mafia”, Saini said, “Those involved in the illegal supply of water in a modern city like Gurugram would not be spared under any circumstances. If anyone is found illegally supplying or purifying water, the concerned department must take immediate action in accordance with the rules. The commissioner of police should promptly address complaints received from citizens in such cases and ensure that the station house officers of the area concerned act on priority. The aim is to prevent any disruption in the supply of safe and clean drinking water to the public.”
Taking note of complaints regarding the lack of basic amenities in housing societies, Saini said, “All builders must ensure that residents of their housing projects receive the basic amenities specified in the agreement, such as water, electricity, sewerage, roads, and security, on time. Any builder failing to comply or acting contrary to the agreement would face strict action.”
Saini also addressed a complaint regarding delays in online mutation registration and ordered an inquiry against a naib tehsildar allegedly responsible for the delay.
“During the meeting, Manveer Singh, Sarpanch of Bahoda Kala village, reported that the work on laying sewer lines in the village has been ongoing for the past three years but remains incomplete. During this period, the department had dug up the entire route, causing significant inconvenience to villagers. Officials explained that the delay was due to pending permissions and no-objection certificates from various departments. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini took serious note of the situation, stating that delays in public-related work are unacceptable. He directed that immediate action be taken against the officer whose negligence led to the pending file and his increment be stopped, so that no officer can shirk their responsibilities in the future,” a spokesperson was quoted as saying in a media statement issued by the Government.
