The Punjab government is working on a detailed action plan to eliminate unscheduled power cuts, especially due to transmission lines imposed on consumers. This was stated by the Industries and Commerce, Information Technology, and Investment Promotion and Power, Sanjeev Arora, Thursday when he visited Vardhman Textile Limited to interact with the members of the Textile and Weaving Committee constituted by the state government to give recommendations for the growth of the textile and weaving industry in Punjab.

S P Oswal, CMD of Vardhman Group, welcomed him along with other members of the committee present on the occasion, including Abhishek Gupta from Trident Group, Amit Thapar-Ganga Acrowools, Amit Jain-Shingora Textiles, Sambhav Oswal-Nahar Spinning Mills, Priyanka Goyal-Member, Associated Industrial Association, Amritsar, and others.

The committee members also shared in detail the various challenges faced by the textile industry in the state and the recommendations given in the report to overcome these challenges.

The minister exchanged Dussehra wishes with all present there. He also highlighted the action taken by the Government of Punjab in making Punjab industry friendly and projects in pipeline in this regard. The minister said that to promote investment, the government is focusing on faster clearance of projects. Under single window system, the new project within Focal Point area will be approved within five days, outside Focal Point within 15 days, expansion within 18 days and projects in red/orange zones will be cleared within 45 to 60 days.
