Girl dies of suspected swine flu

Farika,a resident of Maheshnagar,Ambala Cantonment,died of suspected swine flu on Saturday. Rajesh Kumar alleged that a private practitioner,Dr Anu Jain,was responsible for the death of his daughter.

Farika,a resident of Maheshnagar,Ambala Cantonment,died of suspected swine flu on Saturday. Rajesh Kumar alleged that a private practitioner,Dr Anu Jain,was responsible for the death of his daughter. He said the doctor had given her an injection after which the child’s condition deteriorated. She was then taken to the civil hospital where the doctors declared her dead on arrival. Kumar said his daughter was given medicines for fever,cold and cough but her condition deteriorated. No tests were conducted to confirm swine flu,he alleged.

Fresh case of swine flu reported in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: After a gap of almost a week,a fresh case of swine flu was reported in the city on Saturday. The male patient is recuperating at a private hospital and is responding to Tamiflu treatment,say doctors. While the sudden decline in the number of cases has come as a relief to the residents of the region,health department officials said: “The decline may be because of patients taking medicines with prescriptions only,without undergoing the test,” said a senior official.
