There is a thin line between fruit and no fruit on the tree. We have always been warning you before time to take up proper plant protection measures. See the accompanying picture. The plant was not sprayed in time and there is severe attack of aphids that has caused leaf curling. There is premature flower and fruit drop and what is left gets misshapen. I know it is too late and no measure can make up the loss but some of the readers wanted to know about the cause to take care the next year. So for record,the spraying has to be done with rogor,dissolved at one milliliter to a liter of water.

The splitting in litchi is due to hot winds and less supply of water. It needs plenty of it. Give full watering at least twice in a week. Another reason,Dehradun variety is more prone to splitting that Calcuttia.

Let it happen. It is natural. Spray bavistin,dissolved at one gram to a liter of water.

You are right,especially in case of kinnow there is a need for maintenance spraying of zinc sulphate in the month of May. For this you should dissolve two and a half gram of zinc sulphate to a liter of water.
