Fire at Sector 10 home,kids inform fire station

A fire gutted a room in house number 112,Sector 10,here today. Owners Ashok Manocha,who works in Food Corporation of India,and Anita,who works with LIC,left their house at 9:30 am,before lighting a lamp in their bedroom,-which is also their worship place. According to fire department,the incident took place due to fire from the lamp.

Two boys,Anmol and Prashant,both of age 12 years,who were cycling in the street noticed the smoke from the locked house,and informed the nearby fire station. Anmol,who studies in Class VII,said: “Due to winters,we are on vacations. We were cycling here and we saw smoke emanating from the house. We immediately went to Sector 5 fire station and informed them about the incident.”

Meanwhile,neighbours also informed the owners on phone. It took about one and half hours for two fire tenders to quell the fire,who reached the spot about 12 noon. Firemen broke the window panes to enter the house.

The whole house was filled with smoke. The walls were also got blackened. One double bed,windows,doors and other household items,got destroyed in the fire. SDM Kulwant Kalsan also visited the spot.
