Indian designer Ritu Kumar is back in town with laurels after her stint at the Spanish fashion week,the Valladolid De Moda held in the last week of June. In fact,Kumar and veteran Spanish designer Elyo Berhanyer were honoured for their contributions to fashion by the Mayor of Valladolid at the first ever India-Spain fashion meet,which preceded the week. “Bernhanyer and I did the finale of the fashion week and the show received a standing ovation,” gushes Kumar,who had showcased a selection of gowns that former beauty queens like Dia Mirza,Priyanka Chopra,Lara Dutta and Yukta Mookhey had worn at international pageants. That apart there was also a selection of lehengas and sarees from her couture collection. “The Salon Internacional De Moda De Madrid (SIMM) has shown keen interest in

India’s participation for their at the next Madrid International fair. Hopefully something can be worked out in the coming months,” she says.
