Two goods trains collided in the Fatehgarh Sahib district of Punjab on Sunday morning, injuring two loco pilots. Officials said both trains were coming from the Ambala side and collided near Madhopur in Sirhind.

The loco pilots were initially taken to Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Hospital, but due to their serious condition, they were referred to Rajindra Hospital.

Station House Officer (SHO) Rattan Lal of the Sirhind railway police station said they were informed about the accident around 4 am and promptly transported the injured to the hospital.

The Ambala-Sirhind railway track is one of the busiest railway tracks, with hundreds of trains travelling on it. The police began to probe whether the trains were running on the same track or if there was any other error that led to the accident.
