Exhibition hockey matches on Feb 20

Before the Hockey World Cup to be played in New Delhi from February 28 to March 13,another mega event will be held in Chandigarh on February 20 for the sake of hockey and national hockey players.

Called the Pride of India Cup,the event will highlight hockey as the national sport,and motivate the Indian players for the World Cup. Prominent names from the world of film,television industry,not to forget the entire national team,will take part in the event. As many as four exhibition matches will be played at the Sector 42 Hockey stadium.

While,Suneil Shetty- the brand ambassador for hockey in India-will lead his team of movie stars,Shabbir Ahluwalia will be the captain of Boxy Boys-a team of television artists.

The entire Indian World Cup hockey team along with current and yesteryear stars from the field of cricket,badminton,tennis,athletics,football,boxing and wrestling will also take part in the event.

After a brief question and answer session with the players and stars,four matches of 20 minutes duration each with a gap of five minutes between them will be played.
