Engineers association sends list of demands to UT Administration

The UT Engineers Association,Chandigarh,in a letter to the Secretary Engineering UT,has raised a number of issues and demanded immediate attention of the authorities.

All drafts and proceedings for promotion purposes are being altered time and again as per the suitability of the dealing hand and their vested interests, alleged the association.

While the Engineering department put up the revised rules of the Punjab Government very late,said the letter,it did not discuss the rules for promotion of the Junior Engineer (JE)/ Assistant Engineer (AE) in Group A category.

There are two posts for Sub Divisional Engineer (SDE) in the building branch of the Estate Office. A junior AE has been given the additional charge for that post inflicting grave injustice to the senior AEs, reads the letter.

It also mentions that no regular promotions for JE/AE to SDE have been held since September 2004.

The letter also alleged that the Inspection Bungalow in Sector 19,meant for the Engineering department has been transferred to the social welfare department and is lying completely unused.
