Double delight for Farheen

Farheen,the defending champion,completed a double when she claimed the women’s and girls’ junior singles title in the 19th Chandigarh State Carrom Championship held at St Stephen’s School,Sector 45,on Sunday.

Farheen defeated Tuba in both the finals to successfully defend the title. Mohammad Talib also clinched a double when he won the men’s and sub-junior boys’ final. He overcame Anuj Kr Sinha in men’s final,while he outplayed Mohammad Aarish in sub-junior boys’ final. He completed the first and only ‘white slam’ of the tournament in men’s pre-quarter final against Jaffar Khan by pocketing all the nine white carrom men and queen. Tuba emerged as the girl’s sub-junior winner.
