Doctor held for sending lewd messages

The Chandigarh Police on Monday arrested a doctor of the Government Medical College and Hospital,Sector 32,for allegedly sending lewd messages to a colleague.

The Chandigarh Police on Monday arrested a doctor of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH),Sector 32,for allegedly sending lewd messages to a colleague. Police picked up Dr Rajan Jain from Sector 35 on Monday evening.

His colleague had lodged a complaint on March 21 accusing Jain,a MD student of GMCH-32,of sending lewd messages to her and her in-laws.

As per police,Jain had failed to obtain interim bail in a lower court. On Monday,he had gone to meet his advocate to file an appeal in the Punjab and Haryana High Court when police,acting on a tip-off,arrested him. The doctor had abandoned his hostel room and was absconding. Police teams had visited his hometown,Bhiwani,but in vain. He will be produced in court on Tuesday.
