Disruption in train traffic due to flooding continues

Train traffic continued to be disrupted for the second day due to flooding on the Yamunanagar-Saharanpur rail link. A bridge on the line has also suffered damage.

Train traffic continued to be disrupted for the second day due to flooding on the Yamunanagar-Saharanpur rail link. A bridge on the line has also suffered damage. Two trains from Chandigarh remained canceled,while another was delayed.

The trains between Chandigarh and Lucknow remained canceled on Tuesday as well. There are two trains that ply between these destinations.

During the summer months,owing to the heavy rush,coaches are added to the trains. At times additional trains are also plied. Hundreds of passengers are being affected due to the trains not plying.

The train between Chandigarh and Allahabad was 12 hours behind schedule. Similar conditions had prevailed on Monday as well when the trains were canceled.

The train between Chandigarh and Chennai,which is a weekly train,got stranded at Kalanaur throughout the day and the passengers were brought back to Ambala Railway Station.
