Daria residents complain of poor amenities

The lack of basic amenities is plaguing the residents of village Daria,who allege that despite repeated complaints,no action has been taken by the concerned authorities.

The lack of basic amenities is plaguing the residents of village Daria,who allege that despite repeated complaints,no action has been taken by the concerned authorities. The drainage system in the village is in a pitiable state. The rains are adding to the woes,with water filling up the internal roads.

The residents rue that while the road leading to the railway station has been carpeted,those of this village just opposite to the station have been left out.

This is causing inconvenience to those residing in the area.

Dharminder Singh,an area resident,says that numerous applications have been given by the members of the Zila Parishad to the officials of the Administration. One of the complaints states that the storm water pipes that were laid are of less capacity and cannot cater to the residents of the village. The pipes get choked and storm and sewerage water comes out of them. It stagnates on the roads causing a foul smell.

The complaints to the Administration further state that numerous diseases have spread in the area due to the unhygienic conditions. The gram panchayat had passed a resolution that the pipelines in the area be replaced so that the problem could be tackled.

The area residents are forced to pass through slushy conditions. They rue that it is difficult to cross the roads especially after the rains.
