In the wake of the recent Delhi blast,the Chandigarh police has asked for the review of the security of every vital installation in the city.
After assessing the security of all the vital installations,government buildings,bus stands,tourist spots and markets in the city,we felt that there is an urgent need to upgrade the security, said a police officer privy to the report.
The report was compiled after the Chandigarh police assessed the security of various vital locations.
The officer said that meetings will be held with all the stakeholders in the coming days and they will be asked about enhancing the security.
A security review meeting was,in fact,held at the Punjab and Harayana High Court on Wednesday which was attended by be judicial officers and the top police officers. Police said that such security review meetings will be held in next few days.
The Chandigarh police,in its report,has also stressed the need for having more CCTV surveillance at all the vital installations.
We have suggested to install more CCTV at all the installations to have more surveillance, he said.
