Constable laid to rest with full state honours

A day after a Haryana Police constable was stabbed to death in broad daylight,the main accused,Teja and his accomplice Monu,were sent to two days’ police remand by local court on Wednesday.

A day after a Haryana Police constable was stabbed to death in broad daylight,the main accused,Teja and his accomplice Monu,were sent to two days’ police remand by local court on Wednesday. The police also recovered the knife used in the crime from Teja’s possession.

Meanwhile,Suresh was cremated with full state honours at his native village in Yamunanagar in the morning. The accused had stabbed Kumar,who was posted at Kalka police station,outside the Yavanika Garden in Sector 5 on Tuesday,when the victim was trying to nab them.

The deceased,along with his team,was on the trail of the two accused from Kalka after receiving a tip-off that the vehicle-lifters were going to sell-off a motorcycle near the park. While Monu was nabbed by the team,Teja tried to flee from the spot. Suresh ran after him,but Teja stabbed him in the chest. He was later arrested from the Pinjore bus stand.

Sources in the police said the accused had confessed to the involvement of another accomplice. The third accused,identified as Shashi Bhushan,was arrested from the railway crossing.
