College teachers with PhDs to get two advance increments pending since 1996

Finally the UT Administration has agreed to pay two advance increments,pending since 1996,to the college teachers with Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph D) degree and who moved under selection grades

Finally the UT Administration has agreed to pay two advance increments,pending since 1996,to the college teachers with Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph D) degree and who moved under selection grades as mentioned by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The list,issued by the UT Education Department,contains the names of 38 teachers.

The teachers have been demanding their dues since 1996. Even the Supreme Court has given its decision in favour of the teachers.

Senator and one of the beneficiaries,Dr R P Josh while thanking the UT Administration,said,“We are grateful to the authorities as our demand has been lying pending for years.”

“We also request the authorities to initiate the process of promotion of career advancement scheme soon as around 300 teachers are waiting for it,and to give increments to all those teachers as well who have completed their Ph D degrees,” added Josh. The decision has already been conveyed to the college principals and officials.
