During the release of a brochure at the Rose Festival by UT Administrator Shivraj Patil,the Home Secretary,Finance Secretary and Advisor were asked to accompany him on to the stage. The host made no mention of Mayor Anu Chatraths name who was also present. Looking a little hesitant for a brief moment,the Mayor decided to get on to the stage where she posed for pictures along with the Administrator and other officials.

Wrong precedent
It is said that precedent is one of the most important sources of law. Like customs,the thing about precedents is that they can be cited even if they dont relate to earlier cases in the same court. PPP
In the view of deplorable state finances,many state governments are exploring the PPP model. It is known as Public-Private Partnership but many people feel it is a euphemism that government cannot carry project on its own and needs private money. After roads,bridges,dams,power plants-state governments in the region plant to introduce the PPP model in liquor business also- involving private players in distilleries,breweries,distribution etc. It may sound strange but linguistically,it is most appropriate. Public Private Partnership is after all abbreviated as PPP!
