Cultural exchange
Recently,Alliance Francaise in Sector 36,Chandigarh,organised Bonjour India,a festival aimed at offering Indians an exposure of different aspects of France. Now,whether the Indian students who attended the festival learned the nuances of French culture or not, their French counterparts surely learnt many things about the culture of Punjab. In fact,an upcoming Punjabi singer even managed to hold a performance at the festival. It is difficult to fathom as to how he pulled it off but by the end of the festival, many French students were seen saying Balle Balle and Sat Sri Akal. Now we know why the world makes such a fuss about the cultural power of India.

Not long ago, there was an abnormal increase in the incidents of road accidents at night due to stray cattle. But so obsessed are our elected representative and the concerned official with petty issues and mutual vendetta that they are unperturbed about the real issues affecting the city and its residents.

Today,in a lot of organisations, the mantra is get the advertisements, even if it means ignoring the news.
