No Resthouse
The Akali politicians and state’s top officials have made a beeline to Jalalabad,to please their party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal. But all of them face one problem. Being a moffusil centre,Jalalabad has limited options for lodgings. This is translating into brisk business opportunity for the hotel and guest house owners in Ferozepur (60km) and Fazilka (20 km).

Wrong number
In a series of advertisements the Panchkula police released recently,seeking information about whereabouts of missing property dealer Deepak Rai Saggar,a mobile telephone number was mentioned. The number belonged to a Deputy Superintendent of Police and anybody with any information on the missing man was requested to call on this number. But our DSP sahib doesn’t pick up the number at all. Those close to him say that within the first two days itself,the DSP was inundated with so many calls that he went into the do not disturb mode.
