Civil services aspirant kills himself,after failing to get a job

A 28-year-old civil services aspirant allegedly hung himself at his house in Sector 19,Chandigarh,on Monday.

A 28-year-old civil services aspirant allegedly hung himself at his house in Sector 19,Chandigarh,on Monday. Police said Ravi Aggarwal,who had completed his MCA from Barwala,allegedly killed himself as as he was unable to find a job.

The victim was spotted by his mother,who later informed other family members and the police. A post-mortem is yet to be conducted. Ravi’s death was among the two suicide cases reported on Monday.

In the other such incident, a 31-year-old Hoshiarpur resident was found dead at a park in Sector 21. Sukhwinder Singh,according to police,had a turbulent life. His wife had divorced him eight years ago and he was disowned by his father,police said adding that he was a drug addict. A police officer further said that Sukhwinder had come to the city on Monday,to meet his ex-wife,who lives in Sector 21. He met the woman in the park and was trying to convince her to come back. She left and came back after two hours only to find that Sukhwinder was unconscious. He was rushed to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH),Sector 16,and was declared dead on arrival.
