Eklavya Kapoor, a 16-year-old non-medical student, is dedicated to providing a healthier and more enjoyable lifestyle to the elderly through his organization ‘COSMOSTARS.’

What motivated you to start this initiative?

As a non-medical student with a demanding schedule, I realised I had grown distant from my grandparents. With my parents also busy, they were often left alone, impacting their mental well-being. I started this initiative out of personal interest to promote healthier well-being for neglected elderly individuals.

Can you walk us through a daily routine of the organisation?

Currently, the organisation operates digitally, conducting daily activities on virtual
platforms. We organise sessions on yoga, mindfulness, well-being, psychology, and more, with experts from various fields. Proudly, we have connected with over 6000 elders who are leading healthier lives.

How do you balance your life as a founder and a non-medical student?

I’ve been involved in extracurriculars since eighth grade, so this is just another routine for me. I live in Ambala and receive coaching from Allen Institute, Chandigarh. I wake up at five in the morning, take a bus to the city, join the organisation’s activities en route, and then resume my life as a non-medical student after the activities are done.

What challenges have you faced while running the organisation?

During the initial days, finding experts to join us was challenging. I used LinkedIn to connect with as many people as possible, hoping someone would match my interests and join the cause. Now, operations are smoother with interns managing daily progress. I still attend club activities to ensure smooth functioning.

What are your plans with the organisation?

I envision Cosmostars with a very bright future. We are partnering with international peace organisations which will bring thousands of volunteers onboard and millions of users. We will be launching our app soon, providing solutions related to elders like, events, stories, instant support, etc., all for free. We will be hosting four events daily organised by esteemed professionals from AIIMS, along with government certified yoga experts, nutrition experts and psychology experts. We shall host singalongs and games etc very soon.
