Chandigarh: One more accused held in heroin seizure case
During interrogation, Sourav revealed that he had been receiving supplies from a person called Vishal, a resident of Moga, who is currently lodged in a Punjab jail

The Chandigarh Police has arrested another accused linked to a major narcotics case registered under the NDPS Act.
The accused has been identified as Sourav (24), of Hakkewala village, Firozepur, Punjab. He was arrested in connection with FIR No. 57, dated July 15, 2025, under sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Manimajra police station.
As per the case, the police arrested Sushil Kumar, alias Sulli (32), a resident of New Indira Colony, Manimajra, near Kacchi Parking, Gurukul Global School on July 15. He was caught with 7.32 grams of heroin. Subsequent investigation led to the recovery of 238 grams of heroin, Rs 2.22 lakh drug money, and a motorcycle (CH01CZ7842).
During questioning, Sushil disclosed that he had been sourcing heroin from Sourav, a resident of Firozepur. Bank account scrutiny confirmed deposits made in Sourav’s account, after which his name was added to the case. Acting on this information, a police team raided Firozepur on August 23 and arrested Sourav. Based on his disclosure, the police also recovered 18 grams of heroin.
Sourav was produced before the court on August 24, where the police obtained a one-day remand.
The police are now interrogating him to identify buyers of heroin in Chandigarh and are scrutinising his call detail records (CDRs) and bank accounts to trace his network.
During interrogation, Sourav revealed that he had been receiving supplies from a person called Vishal, a resident of Moga, who is currently lodged in a Punjab jail. He also disclosed that his grandmother has relatives in Pakistan and has visited the country multiple times, prompting the police to examine possible cross-border links.
