Chotu Rams 130 th birth anniversary was celebrated in Panchkula on Tuesday with Union Poverty Alleviation and Urban Development Minister and local MP Kumari Selja gracing the occasion. Speaking on the occasion,Selja said,When we talk about Haryanas social environment,we feel ashamed. When it is discussed at different platforms,we feel down.
She added that caste politics was bad for the state. It can temporarily benefit someone. But it causes deep-rooted damage. We should take a pledge to remove differences in society.
Speaking to mediapersons,she said that Sonia Gandhi had emphasised that no fertile land should be acquired. She also expressed concern that development work in her constituency was slow. She gifted Rs 11 lakh for a Jat Dharmshala. Rajya Sabha member Birender Singh,who was present on the occasion,too announced Rs 10 lakh for construction works at the Jat Dharamshala.
