Congress is likely to rejig its Punjab unit in the next three days – ahead of AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the state on April 16.
Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh told The Indian Express that they have already prepared the new list and that the reorganised PCC would be announced in a day or two. “Rahul will come to Punjab and pat the PCC office bearers on Saturday.”
Reiterating that he had only tweaked the PPCC list, Amarinder said “There are not going to be any major changes in the PPCC. Rather, I have added a few more names. The district units, however, will see some changes.”

Amarinder had dissolved the PPCC soon after taking over as president, leaving the office-bearers, especially those associated with his predecessor, Partap Singh Bajwa, feeling insecure.
However, he said he would not delete any names from the list in an indication that he cannot risk having sullen faces in the party in an election year
A 220-member jumbo list, announced by Bajwa during his tenure, had sparked off much protest. In fact, the murmurs of discontent grew louder and eventually turned into a revolt against him and finally resulting into his ouster.
With this precedence in mind, the Congress has been delaying the announcement of the list till date.
Now, however, Rahul would put a stamp on the rejigged body with his presence.
Amarinder is scheduled to go abroad on April 19 and by the time he will return, the state unit would be settled, said a source.
