Before the Kullu district police started investigations into the FIR registered against state BJP president Khimi Ram,Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumals intervention has brought the two leaders together. District BJP president Ram Singh had lodged an FIR under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act,1989,complaining that BJP leader Dharamvir Dhami had used derogatory remarks related to his caste at a meeting, where Khimi Ram was present and supported the latter. The FIR had given the Congress a big issue ahead of the urban local bodies and panchayat elections. Kullu Superintendent of Police Abhishek Dular said he had already appointed Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Ram Lal Bandal as the investigation officer in the case. He said the complainant might lose interest in the case after the patch-up,but the FIR could not be withdrawn and the police would complete the legal process. According to reports, the CM had summoned Ram Singh and Khimi Ram to Shimla on Sunday. Khimi Ram clarified his position and after persuasions Ram Singh, too, agreed to work together for the party in the district.
