Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal slipped on the stairs at his official residence on Thursday morning and sustained mild lacerations above the right eyebrow and a soft tissue injury in the chest region. He is undergoing treatment at the PGI.
According to reports,Badal was going for his morning walk around 6 am when the incident occurred. He was immediately rushed to PGI by his son and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
According to PGI Director Dr K K Talwar,the CM had to be given two stitches for the eye laceration. X-ray and CT scan did not show any injury and all his routine test results are normal. Doctors attending to him said Badal was doing fine. Punjab Governor Shivraj Patil called on the CM and wished him a speedy recovery. Many ministers,chief parliamentary secretaries,MPs,MLAs,senior party leaders,officers and others visited the PGI to see Badal. Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Mukul Mudgal sent him a bouquet.
