Heated arguments between some councillors marked the beginning of the 172nd house meet of the Municipal Corporation (MC) wherein Congress Councilor Pradeep Chabra and nominated councillor A P Sanwaria levelled allegation on each of indulging in criminal activities.
The proceedings of the zero hour were marked by allegations and counter allegations between the two. It all started with Pardeep Chhabra pointing it out that the how the nominated councillor A P Sanwaria had given wrong affidavit for allotment of a house and has thus committed forgery.
This raised Sanwarias temper and he told Chhabra to ask his party high command to bring in those councillors in the house who could act as per the MC Act.
This created an uproar in the house with all the Congress councillors raising their voice in the house and demanded that Sanwaria should take his words back following which Sanwaria withdrew his statement.
Barely had the tempers of the councillors cooled off that BJP councillor Anil Kumar Dubey alleged that recently a case was registered against him on directions of the Union Minister and Member of Parliament Pawan Kumar Bansal. This attracted a protest of all Congress councillors who unanimously said that no allegations should be levelled against any member who is not present in the house.
Meanwhile,it was the issue pertaining to the Uppal Housing Society which received some seriousness in the house from all the councillors irrespective of party lines dividing them.
In the house,it was raised that the inquiry report tabled earlier pertaining to the Uppal Housing Project,Manimajra,which mentioned that there was violation of terms of memorandum of understanding (MOU) in the project,is an incomplete inquiry report. As per the inquiry report prepared by former Joint Commissioner Kamlesh the company had flouted the MOU,by not constructing 25 Economical Weaker Section (EWS) houses.
MC Additional Commissioner Lalit Siwach today said that the report was incomplete. He said that the company had made a provision to construct EWS houses by 2015. Many other flaws in the report are still under the scrutiny by concerning departments.
Reacting to sharply to this,Congress councillor Chander Mukhi Sharma asked how could the officials take the MC House for a ride by saying that report they prepared was incomplete and unreliable.
He said that on the basis of an incomplete report how come action had been initiated against the residents of the Uppal by not issuing them No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
Meanwhile,all the nominated councillors asked the mayor to withdraw the decision of not issuing NOCs to the residents.
