Amarinder shines in ICL Collges’ win

A three-wicket haul by Amarinder Singh guided ICL Group of Colleges to a narrow five-run win over LIC Club in a match of the First Cricket Challenger Cup played at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex,Sector 3 on Monday.

LIC Club won the toss and elected to bowl first. Batting first,ICL Group of Colleges could score a total of 90 runs in 14.3 overs. The team had a disastrous start as their openers returned cheaply. 2007 Twenty20 World Cup hero Joginder Sharma could not open his account and returned back to the pavilion without troubling the scorers. Rocky Ratta was the main scorer for the team playing a knock of 26 runs off 14 balls. Kuldeep Hooda played a knock of 16 runs.

For LIC Club,Gourav Gupta claimed four wickets while Gurinder Saini claimed three wickets. In reply,LIC Club could manage a total of 85 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Vishal Saini was the highest scorer for the team as he played a knock of 25 runs.

For the winning team,Amarinder Singh claimed three wickets while Babloo Kumar claimed two wickets.
