A hat-trick by Amandeep apart from a brace by Gurvinder Singh propelled Round Glass Hockey Academy to an emphatic 7-0 win over SGPC Academy, Amritsar, in a league match of the Punjab Hockey League being organised by Hockey Punjab and Round Glass Sports at Olympian Balbir Singh Senior International Hockey Stadium in Mohali on Monday.
The match started on an attacking note as Amandeep scored the opening goal of the match for Round Glass Hockey Academy in the second minute of the match through a successful penalty corner conversion. Twelve minutes later, Gurwinder scored a field goal to extend the lead to 2-0 for the Round Glass Hockey team. Amandeep then scored his second goal of the match in the 15th minute of the match through another successful penalty corner conversion to make it 3-0 in favour of the Round Glass Hockey team.
The next minute saw Amandeep once again successfully converting another penalty corner to score his third goal of the match to make the scoreboard read 4-0 in the favour of the Round Glass Hockey team.
Sukhpreet then scored the fifth goal of the match for the team in the 38th minute before Gurwinder Singh scored his second goal of the match with a successful conversion of a penalty corner for Round Glass Hockey team in the 45th minute of the match. Inderjit Singh scored the seventh goal for the team in the 56th minute of the match as the Round Glass Hockey team completed a 7-0 win.
In another match of the day, SAI Sonepat scored a 5-0 win over SDAT Academy, Tamil Nadu. Happy, Harpal, Ashwini, Ankush and Pankaj Sharma scored one goal each for the winning team. It was also a winning day for Namdhari Academy as they scored a 4-2 win over Ghumanhera Risers Hockey Academy. Gurpreet Singh scored a brace for the winning team while Gurman Singh and Yuvraj Singh scored one goal each. For the losing side, Parikshit and Jatin scored one goal each. In another match of the day, Navan Tata Academy, Jamshedpur, scored a 3-1 win over Surjit Hockey Academy, Jalandhar. Patras Hasa scored a brace for the winning team while Sabian Kiro scored one goal. For the losing side, Abhishek Gorkhi scored the solitary goal.
