Members of the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP),in Panjab University,organised their fifth annual toppers' felicitation ceremony at the Law Auditorium in PU on Thursday. About 624 students from various departments of PU were felicitated in a ceremony presided by Kuldeep Malik,former Olympian and Dhyanchand award winner. Gallantry award winner,Mukesh,a paraolympian and Captain Prachi,who recently conquered Mount Everest were amongst those honoured. The list of toppers included first and second rank holders of each class of the university along with sportspersons who have brought laurels to the varsity. The chief guest of the function was Punjab Cabinet Minister Madan Mohan Mittal,who said: Toppers are the flag-bearers of a developing society and we as a nation look upon them to come forward and work towards a visionary India. The chief speaker of the ceremony was Srinivas,North Zone organizing secretary of ABVP and former National secretary. He asked students to be the voice of the country and stand for the solidarity and Integrity of the nation. Rajesh Bagga,Chairman,SC commission,Punjab,was the Guest of Honor for the event. He praised the intellectuals of the university and asked them to work towards the enlightenment of society. ABVP campus president,Parvesh Chandel,elaborated the activities and achievements of ABVP in the previous academic session and asked more students to join the team to develop the University as a brand icon in the country.
