The three-day 45th Annual Sangeet Sammelan will be organised by the Indian National Theater in collaboration with Durga Das Foundation this week. Indian National Theater President Anil Nehru and Honorary Secretary Vinita Gupta said that this Sangeet Sammelan is dedicated to their late patron Navjeevan Khosla.
The festival will open with classical music vocalist Chinmayee Athale, followed by a flute recital by Debopriya. On the evening of November 4, there will be two vocal recitals, the first by Anagha Bhat followed by Aditya Khandve , while on the last day of the sammelan on November 5, Anupama Bhagwat will present her sitar recital. Chinmayee Athale grew up in a musical environment at home in Kolhapur and has received training under renowned vocalists.
Well-known disciples of Hari Prasad Chaurasia , popularly known as the flute sisters, Debopriya and Suchismita will present their flute jugalbandi. Debopriya is the recipient of the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for the year 2008. Anagha Bhat, a Hindustani classical singer based in Bengaluru, is a disciple of Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, one of India’s eminent musicians with rare mastery over three styles or gharanas – Gwalior, Agra and Jaipur.
Aditya Khandve, son of Hindustani classical vocalist Vidya Khandve, received his initial training from his mother and has been honored with awards and honors by prestigious organizations.
