2 more rape cases reported,victims 4 and 13 years old

Two more cases of rapes and sexual assault on minor girls in Haryana came to light recently after cases were register in Jhajjar and Fatehabad districts,the accused in both the cases have been arrested.

In the first case from Bahadurgarh area of Jhajjar district,a four-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a Virender (27),who hails from Uttar Pradesh,last Saturday. A complaint was lodged with the Haryana Police by the girl’s father on October 12 and a case was registered on charges of “unnatural offence” punishable under Section 377 of IPC. The child was able to recount the incident based on which a case was registered and the accused arrested. He was produced in court on Saturday and sent to judicial custody.

Another case of rape came to light in Ratia of Fatehabad district,where a 13-year-old girl and a class VI student was allegedly being raped for the past five months by Sohan Lal (65),a fruit seller.

The girl’s father said he came to know of the situation on October 12 after which a panchayat meeting decided to report the incident to the police.

Acting on the complaint,the police registered a case on charges of rape and arrested Sohan Lal. The victim alleged that for the past four to five months,Sohan Lal used to lure her by giving her free fruits and in lieu of that used to take her to the fields after school hours and rape her.
