A man, who allegedly attempted suicide on the premises of the Vadodara district court complex in Diwalipura on Wednesday, was rescued and was taken to hospital where he is recuperating. According to police, the man, identified as Arjunbhai, in his late forties, tried to hang himself from a tree on the court premises when bystanders rushed to rescue him and took him to the Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society (GMERS)-run Gotri hospital. Officials of Gotri police station investigating the incident, said that the man, who hails from Por village in Vadodara district, is “disoriented” and has been talking about “being threatened by some people”. An official said, “We are probing the case. The man does not seem to be a litigant or respondent in any ongoing case in the court but is narrating a story of being attacked and chased by people. We are waiting to record his statement.”
