Man arrested for duping government official after posing as aide to Karnataka DyCM Shivakumar
The 36-year-old defrauded an engineer after promising to secure a favourable transfer for her, according to the Bengaluru police.

The Bengaluru police have arrested a man for allegedly posing as an aide to Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and Information Technology Minister Priyank Kharge and defrauding a government official after promising a favourable transfer.
According to the police, Raghunandan S V N, 36, from Mysuru, approached a woman engineer with the rural development and panchayat raj department promising a favourable transfer in return for Rs 80,000, which she sent him in two instalments on October 15 and 16.
After receiving a complaint in this regard from a senior official from the department, the police tracked Raghunandan down to a hotel in Tumakuru and arrested him on November 8.
The police said he had contacted other government officials as well and that they were looking for his other potential victims.
Rajendra Prasad M S, personal secretary to Shivakumar, reported that Raghunandan had been posing as the deputy chief minister’s assistant and contacting government officials with similar offers of transfers.
A police officer said Raghunandan was arrested in June 2023 for duping officials with false transfer promises.
