Karnataka weather today: IMD predicts light to moderate rains in coastal, north Karnataka

Karnataka, Bengaluru weather today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted light to moderate rainfall in several parts of Karnataka on Thursday and Friday. It is likely that some areas will experience thunderstorms and gusty winds during the next 24 hours.

According to the seven-day forecast issues by IMD, scattered and isolated rainfall is expected in coastal and north interior Karnataka on Thursday, while fairly widespread rain is expected is expected to lash parts of southern Karnataka.

Coastal Karnataka 

Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts is expected to receive scattered rainfall in some areas over the next 24 hours, according to the IMD forecast. It is likely that some areas will witness a brief dip in temperature.

North Interior Karnataka

Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur and Belagavi districts and other areas in northern Karnataka is expected to receive isolated in a couple of areas, with gusty winds and a increased humidity.

South Interior Karnataka

Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Hassan, Mysuru and Kolar are forecasted to receive fairly widespread rainfall in multiple areas. Meanwhile, Ballari, Bengaluru (Urban & Rural), Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapura, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Mandya, Ramanagara, Tumakuru and Vijayanagara are expected to receive light rains and gusty winds through the day.
