Karnataka student dies after falling into Sept Cascades waterfall in Mauritius

According to sources, Bhat’s uncle Satyanarayana Bhat has approached Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Kota Shrinivasa Poojary and Dakshina Kannada MP Brijesh Chowta seeking help to bring his body back.

Sathyanarayana Bhat told indianexpress.com that there was no communication from Mauritius on Wednesday. “We do not know what is happening there. Nandan Bhat’s father died long ago, and his mother and eldest sister are grieving here. We have been requesting the leaders to help us bring his body,” he said.

In a letter to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, MP Poojary stated, “The bereaved family is in deep grief and has requested that his mortal remains be brought back to India at the earliest. In this regard, I kindly request your good office to instruct the Indian high commission in Mauritius to extend all necessary assistance and coordinate for the swift repatriation of his body to India.”

The MP also requested the Union minister to ensure the required support and guidance for the family of Bhat from the authorities concerned during this difficult time.
