Karnataka Lokayukta raids 10 govt officials, seizes unaccounted assets worth Rs 21.22 crore

A Lokayukta official said, “The searches unveiled substantial assets allegedly acquired through questionable means by the accused government officials. Investigations are ongoing and further actions are anticipated based on the findings. The operation signifies a significant crackdown on corruption within government ranks, aiming to ensure accountability and transparency.”

During the searches, following information about their acquisition of disproportionate assets was revealed:-

Tumakuru district

A Hanumantharayappa, In-charge Junior Engineer, Civil, Office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, KRIDL Sub Division, Madhugiri, Tumakuru District.

Searches in six places were conducted. During the searches the following assets were found:

Value of Immovable Assets: Three houses and eight acre of agricultural land valued at Rs 2,30,00,000.

Value of Movable Assets: Rs 40,000 cash, Rs 8,50,000 worth of ornaments, Rs 14,80,000 worth of vehicles and Rs 2,00,000 worth of household articles. Total value Rs 25,30,000.

Total Value: Rs 2,55,30,000

The raids were conducted in Tumakuru, Mandya, Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru, Koppal, Vijayanagara, Ballari, Hassan, Chamarajanagara and Mangaluru. (Express Photo)

Mandya District

Harsha HR, Executive Engineer, PWD, Mandya District.

Searches in six places were conducted. During the searches the following assets were found.

Value of Immovable Assets: Three sites, two houses and 15-30 acre of agricultural land valued at Rs 1,68,19,000.

Value of Movable Assets: Rs 1,50,000 cash, Rs 10,00,000 worth of ornaments, Rs 55,00,000 worth of vehicles and Rs 2,15,50,336 worth of household articles and others valued at Rs 2,82,00,336.

Total Value: Rs 4,50,19,336

Ballari district

Searches in three places were conducted. During the searches the following assets were found.

Value of Immovable Assets: Seven sites and two houses valued at Rs 1,57,10,000.

Value of Movable Assets: Rs 59,800 cash, Rs 9,12,600 worth of ornaments, Rs 23,30,000 worth of vehicles and Rs 26,00,000 worth of household articles and others valued at Rs 59,02,400.

Total Value: Rs 2,16,12,400

Vijayanagar district

Searches in five places. During the searches the following assets were found.

Value of Immovable Assets: Eight sites, three houses and two acre of agricultural land valued at Rs 1,40,35,000.

Value of Movable Assets: Rs 76,550 cash, Rs 20,00,000 worth of ornaments, Rs 12,10,000 worth of vehicles and Rs 1,63,246 worth of household articles and others valued at Rs 34,49,796.

Total Value: Rs 1,74,84,796

Chamarajanagara district

Searches in three places were conducted. During the searches the following assets were found.

Value of Immovable Assets: One site, one house, one commercial establishment, 5.9 acre of land, property mortgage and four acre of agricultural land valued at Rs 1,78,60,000.

Value of Movable Assets: Rs 560 cash, Rs 13,30,500 worth of ornaments, Rs 4,00,000 worth of vehicles and Rs 11,55,400 worth of house hold articles and others valued at Rs 28,86,460.

Total Value: Rs 2,07,46,460

Chikkamagaluru district

Nethravathi K R, Commercial Tax Officer, Office of the Commercial Tax Commissioner, Commercial Tax Department, Chikkamagaluru District.

Searches in two places were conducted. During the searches, the following assets were found.

Value of Immovable Assets: Five sites and one house valued at Rs 1,18,50,000.

Value of Movable Assets: Rs 4,58,000 cash, Rs 7,77,360 worth of ornaments, Rs 10,00,000 worth of vehicles and Rs 16,40,640 worth of household articles and others valued at Rs 77,98,000.

Total Value: Rs 1,98,48,000

Koppala District

Renukamma, RFO, Hoovina Hadagali Range, Forest Department, Vijayanagara District.

Searches in five places were conducted. During the searches the following assets were found.

Value of Immovable Assets: Two sites, two houses and 11 acre of agricultural land valued at Rs 1,91,48,000.

Value of Movable Assets: Rs 2,09,000 cash, Rs 32,00,000 worth of ornaments, Rs 29,00,000 worth of vehicles and Rs 23,08,265 worth of household articles and others valued at Rs 86,17,265.

Total Value: Rs. 2,77,65,265

Mysuru District

Searches in four places were conducted. During the searches the following assets were found.

Value of Immovable Assets: Four sites, one house and two acre of agricultural land valued at Rs 66,00,000.

Value of Movable Assets: Rs 86,000 cash, Rs 31,26,900 worth of ornaments and Rs 8,00,000 worth of vehicles valued at Rs 40,12,900.

Total Value: Rs. 1,06,12,900

Mangaluru district

Searches in three places were conducted. During the searches the following assets were found.

Value of Immovable Assets: Three sites and two houses valued at Rs 1,27,80,000.

Value of Movable Assets: Rs 28,24,280 worth of ornaments, Rs 9,60,000 worth of vehicles, Rs 4,00,000 household articles and Rs 74,77,000 bank balance valued at Rs 1,16,61,280.

Hassan District

Searches in four places were conducted. During the searches the following assets were found.
