Karnataka higher education minister Dr MC Sudhakar Tuesday warned his department officials against the delay in clearing important files, especially those involving legal issues. He was speaking at a review meeting of officers of the Department of Technical Education, Collegiate Education, and Higher Education under the Department of Higher Education.

Sudhakar, in the meeting, stated that the functioning of the department will be hampered if officials do not dispose of files with responsibility, and ensure transparency and accountability. He warned that the officers should come out with a clear opinion on files that involve legal issues.

“Even if files come from the minister’s office to the secretariat, what is the need to delay issuing the order from there? It is not right to harass those who have come to the government with the hope of getting justice,” he said.

It is the job of the authorities to implement the decisions we take effectively and transparently,” he said.
