(Express file photo)A special court for elected representatives in Bengaluru has reserved its order till Monday on a bail application moved by JD(S) MLA H D Revanna in connection with a sexual harassment case filed at the Holenarsipur police station in Karnataka’s Hassan district.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing allegations of sexual harassment against JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna has opposed the bail to H D Revanna, an accused in one of the cases. It placed its objections to the court Friday, following which the special court judge reserved orders for Monday.
The special court had granted interim relief from arrest to H D Revanna on Thursday, after the SIT demanded either police custody or judicial custody for the legislator. The case against the father-son duo was filed by a 47-year-old maid.
The counsel for H D Revanna had objected to the demand by SIT, citing that there were no non-bailable sections invoked against the accused. SIT argued that the accused had the potential to influence the investigation due to his political clout.
H D Revanna was arrested on May 5 in connection with a kidnap case filed at the K R Nagar police station in Mysuru district. He was released on bail on May 12.
Meanwhile, BJP leader G Devarajegowda was remanded to judicial custody till May 24 by a court in Hassan. After being detained over a sexual harassment case, he was booked as an accused in a case related to the leak the obscene videos involving the JD(S) MP.
Devarajegowda is accused number eight in the case and he was under police custody till Friday.
