‘Was offered Rs 100 crore by D K Shivakumar to blame Kumaraswamy’: BJP leader G Devarajegowda on Prajwal Revanna sex videos
DK Shivakumar wanted to paint Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a bad light and spoil Kumaraswamy's reputation, BJP leader G Devarajegowda alleged.

BJP leader G Devarajegowda, who is currently in prison under various charges, alleged that he was offered Rs 100 crore by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and D K Shivakumar to blame JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy of leaking the pen drives containing the videos of alleged sexual assault by Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna.
Speaking to the media in Hassan on Friday after a bail hearing, Devarajegowda said, “They offered me Rs 100 crore. Rs five crore was sent as advance to Room No 110 of Bowring Club in Bengaluru.”
Shivakumar wanted to paint Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a bad light and spoil Kumaraswamy’s reputation, he alleged.
A committee of four ministers, including Agriculture Minister N Chaluvarayaswamy, Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj minister Priyank Kharge, were handling the entire issue, he claimed.
The BJP and the JD(S) are alliance partners in Karnataka for the Lok Sabha polls. Videos of the MP leaked on April 21 has put the coalition on a defensive in the state.
Devarajegowda said that he refused the offer. “Since I did not join hands with them, they fixed me in an atrocity case first, followed by a sexual harassment case and a rape case,” he alleged.
He said that he had the evidence to back his claims, adding “the government would fall” once he came out.
The BJP leader had unsuccessfully contested against JD(S) leader H D Revanna in the 2023 Assembly polls. He was the first to allege that Shivakumar was behind the leak of the videos.
He was questioned by SIT officials after Karthik, former driver of Prajwal Revanna, alleged that he had given the pen drive containing the obscene videos only to Devarajegowda.
After the video clips surfaced, copies of the letter the BJP leader had written to the party leadership about the presence of such videos had also made the rounds. In the letter, he had advised the party against allying with JD(S) and warned of the presence of videos shot by Prajwal Revanna himself.
In the past, Devarajegowda had made similar allegations saying that he was lured with various offers with Congress leader L R Shivarame Gowda as the mediator.
