Annoyed by negative review on Google, PG owner advertises woman as ‘call girl’ online, posts her photos

The Bengaluru police arrested the 32-year-old PG owner based on the woman's complaint.

The East Division CEN police in Bengaluru on Sunday arrested a paying guest facility owner for allegedly harassing a 24-year-old woman online she left a negative review about his establishment on Google. The accused, Anand Sharma, 32, a resident of Sheshadripura and a native of Rajasthan, posted the woman’s photos advertising her as a ‘call girl’, said the police.

“The woman left the PG due to lack of maintenance and inadequate facilities. She posted a negative review on Google. In response, Anand Sharma took a photo of the woman that she submitted during her PG documentation and posted it on the classifieds portal ‘Locanto’, falsely stating that she was a call girl and uploaded her contact number,” a police officer said.

The woman recently started receiving calls from those seeking a “female escort”. She approached the East CEN police and filed a complaint, leading to Anand’s arrest.
